Do I need any experience before doing First Aid Level 1?
No, you do not need previous first aid experience or a medical background to do First Aid Level 1. The course starts with the basics, including scene safety, casualty assessment and basic life support, and builds up from there. It suits anyone who wants to act as a workplace first aider or simply be ready to help in an emergency.
How long is the First Aid Level 1 certificate valid?
Certificates are issued in line with the SAQA-aligned unit standard for this course. Most workplaces set their own refresher schedule, often every few years, so check your organisation's policy or ask our team when you book. We can also arrange refresher training at your premises.
