Frequently asked questions
How much does Asbestos Awareness training cost?
Pricing starts at around R850 per person and depends on group size and delivery mode. The course runs over one day, either on-site at your premises or at one of our training centres in Midrand or Durban. Asbestos Awareness is separate from licensed asbestos removal work, which has its own requirements. Email info@rehtraining.co.za for a quote and available dates.
Do I need this course if I do maintenance work?
Yes, especially if you work in older buildings. The course covers identifying asbestos-containing materials and where they are commonly found, including cement products, cladding and insulation. You will learn to use asbestos registers and exposure records, and to recognise when work could disturb asbestos so it can be stopped and handled correctly. That protects you and everyone on site.
Does this course allow me to remove asbestos?
No. Asbestos Awareness is awareness only, and it does not qualify anyone to remove asbestos. The course explains the restrictions on high-risk activities and the limitations on removal work, so you know what must be left to licensed specialists. If your company does asbestos removal, those teams need the specific licensed training required for that work.
Can you present this course at our site?
Yes. The course is available on-site at client premises, which suits building managers and maintenance teams because the examples can come from your own buildings. It is also offered at our training centres in Midrand and Durban. Classes run daily, so there is no waiting period. Email info@rehtraining.co.za or call 010 746 6954 to book.
